Beautiful work and interesting description...

Artist's Description

I studied with a wonderful women a few years back from Canada. She taught me the traditional ways of northwest art concerning black and red not touching each other. This takes the life away in the living object. I have used red touching black on one of the tassels, but it is inanimate. This piece is untraditional in the fact that I have placed a salmon and a raven on inamimate objects such as feathers. Traditionally, a living being is placed inside of a living animal that usually feeds on it. A salmon would be inside of an eagle or a bear, etc...

About Tracy L Teeter

Tracy L Teeter

I am a mostly self-taught artist residing in a small town in SW Kansas. My husband and I reside with three very furry cats named CC, Sas and Gizzy. I do a variety of subjects mainly with domestic animals and wildlife. Animals captured my heart when I was a child. I experiment with different mediums, but pastels have become my passion. I find happiness from the creation of my works, but the end result of seeing people view the completed piece is the best! Young or old, people like to be uplifted with positive and colorful pieces. It makes my life brighter when I see smiles light up their faces. Tracy L. Teeter http://www.TracyLTeeter.com http://www.Zazzle.com/TracyLTeeter* All images by Tracy L Teeter copyrighted.
